Top 20 Options Traded
at eOption in May 2022
June 2, 2022
May markets initially continued the correction trend into bear territory. Yet we saw some turnaround by the end of the month. Nasdaq ended down 2.3% while Dow and S&P were essential flat. Inflation concerns continue with oil up 10% in May and US 10-year treasuries flirt with 3%. JP Morgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon warns investors to prepare for turbulence in the markets and circumstances creating a potential “hurricane” for the economy. Time to re-assess risk tolerances.
As we celebrated Cinco de Mayo, Chipotle rockets to our #1 position in May. Ariba! Coinbase makes an appearance in the top 20 as crypto markets were in free fall mid-month. Crowd Strike also in play as the stock sheds 20%. Worse performance for Upstart as it plunges 33% in May as rising interest rates confuse their AI lending program and create fewer loans.
Energy stocks rally as oil prices continue higher creating opportunity for Exxon Mobile, Chevron, and Devon Energy.
