Top 20 Equity Options Traded
in September 2022
october 3, 2022
The broad market downturn continues through September as all major indices slide into bear market territory. The S&P 500 has fallen for three consecutive quarters, the kind of decline we have not seen since 2009. Traders found little positive to hold the market up as all eyes focus are on the Fed. The hawkish theme extends with interest rates as Chairman Powell seems singularly focused on curbing inflation at all costs.
The US dollar remains very strong especially in relativity to the British Pound which finds itself with a new King Charles and Prime Minister Liz Truss within the month of September.
For active traders, this all brings higher volatility which can make for interesting markets to trade.
Here is a chart comparing relative ETF performance of the Dow, Nasdaq and S&P for the month of September.
