Top 20 Equity Options Traded
in July 2023
August 7, 2023
Markets broadly continued their “melt up” in July. Déjà vu with concerns with an overbought scenario as equity markets increase. This is all despite treasury bills rates press up against 10-year all time highs. Hopes for a soft-landing to avoid a recession are evident with numbers supporting stronger labor market and cooling inflation.
For the month, the Dow increased 3.4% (+7.28% YTD) posting a 13-day upward trend that matched its longest streak since 1987. S&P 500 nearly matched the Dow, up 3.1% (+19.52% YTD) in July for its fifth consecutive positive month. Not to be outdone, the Nasdaq gained 4.1% in July (+37.07% YTD) up for the fifth straight month running. 2023 is showing great potential.
